GRAPHIC DESIGN, WEB DESIGN, ILLUSTRATIONS
That's what I like to do. I work as a graphic designer at a packaging company near Cincinnati, Ohio. There I prepare one-up art files for prepress production, create mocked up sales samples on potential designs, and also make litho printing plates. As a hobby I strive to learn the web. Web design is a vast field that is constantly evolving. I soak in as much as I can with my spare time. I have made and maintain a few websites including the one you are presently using. Last but not least, illustration has always been something I enjoy. I have not commercially illustrated, but have a nice little personal collection. Illustration is probably on the back burner for the most part because I am always working on the computer, but I would never consider it to be a retired skill. Illustration is what led me to design in the first place, but currently Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver are my best friends.
This website is to put myself on the map, share a little of my work, and hopefully get in touch with more projects moving forward. Web design is probably my favorite subject but life dictates that I stay where I'm at right now. Web design is probably the type of work I look for the most because that is how I will learn more, through real jobs. I love CSS and that is probably my strong suit if I have one in the web department. I am definitely a web DESIGNER, not a programmer. You must learn to use programming in your designs and this is very possible due to the generosity of some great programmers. I am not writing much of my own code but have become accustom to dabbling with jQuery, PHP and the like. It all goes together to create great web experiences.
